Are you trying to set goals with families but are met with resistance, embarrassment, or overwhelm? It isn’t enjoyable for anyone. This training makes goal-setting achievable. It teaches parenting educators, home visitors, and family advocates how to gently and effectively help families set goals.
This training presents a process that enlivens goal-setting with families. Using Reachables®, participants will support families in identifying their values and dreams for themselves, their children, and their families and then turn them into achievable goals.
Participants will:
- Learn a process to make goal-setting manageable, approachable, and rewarding for families.
- Explore motivations for change and growth in order to support families to choose meaningful goals.
- Learn how to talk about goals in a way that takes the focus and pressure off the parent.
- Develop a strategic approach to families and parents who shut down and feel patronized, controlled, and negative toward the family advocate about setting goals.
This training does not include Reachables® Family Goal Setting Cards. They are sold separately. You can purchase Reachables® by clicking HERE.
