The Power of Stories: Using Books to Understand and Heal

This workshop will dive into the role books can play in helping to navigate common struggles children and parents face. We’ll explore the role of bibliotherapy in the home setting, identify common parenting struggles, and discuss specific literature related to these struggles.

Your trainers are:

Megan Murphy, MS

Megan started her career as a substitute teacher and has since held multiple positions in the field, including lead preschool/pre-k teacher. After receiving her MS in Child Development at University of La Verne, she began working in the field of higher education as an Adjunct Professor.

 

Amanda Hill, M.Ed

Amanda is Parenting Now’s Director of Training. She has a passion for working with educators, parents, and families. She also teaches child development courses within the community college and university settings. Prior to teaching at the college level, she taught typically-developing preschoolers, as well as those with special needs.
